Launched in early 2025, our Lompoc Residency brings world-class dance education to students at Lompoc High School through a weekly program grounded in cultural relevance, creativity, and community connection. This residency introduces students to a wide variety of street dance styles while supporting their personal growth, academic confidence, and future aspirations. What sets this program apart is the combination of artistic excellence and real-world guidance, delivered by a national network of renowned teaching artists.

Meet The Artists
In addition to technical dance training, students participate in college and career readiness sessions integrated into the weekly programming. These sessions give students the chance to learn about each guest artist’s professional journey and explore how dance, music, and culture can translate into career paths in the arts, education, entrepreneurship, and beyond. Artists share real-world advice on goal setting, navigating creative industries, and applying their unique talents in meaningful ways.
This holistic approach has already shown strong results. Through ongoing feedback surveys, both students and teachers have reported increased engagement, self-confidence, and excitement each week. Students are not only learning new styles—they’re building life skills, expanding their networks, and developing a vision for their future.
Diverse Programming, Deep Impact
The Lompoc Residency is more than a dance program—it’s a gateway to opportunity, identity, and empowerment. By connecting students to a national network of artists, creatives, and educators, we’re helping them gain tools for success both in and beyond the studio. Whether it's through mastering a new style or hearing how a guest artist turned their passion into a profession, students are discovering new possibilities for what their future can hold—and they’re rising to meet it.
